Minutes September 16, 2015
A regular meeting of the New Underwood City Council was held at 5:00 p.m. at the Community Center on September 16, 2015. Present were: Mayor Jack Trullinger, Councilmembers: Rikka Buchtel, Larry Graham, and Kathy Trullinger Absent: Laurie Holloway. Also present: Finance Officer Meri Jo Anderson, Public Works Supervisor Tim Hall, Helen Richter, and Dianne Trullinger.
AGENDA
Motion by K. Trullinger second by Buchtel to approve the agenda. Aye: all. Motion carried.
MINUTES
Moved by Graham second by K. Trullinger to approve the September 2, 2015 as published. Aye: all. Motion carried.
PUBLIC WORK
- Mr. Hall reported the north well is up and running, the pump had not failed it was a nick in the wiring that caused it to burn out; we were on the south well with few complaints.
- The Control @ lift station has been fixed by putting in a new winch.
- The fire hydrant on the corner of Pine and “B” Ave. has been repaired.
- The swimming pool was winterized today.
COUNCIL MEETING RESCHEDULED
The next council meeting is October 7, since this is during the SDCL Conference the meeting date for the first meeting in October will be the 14th. The Council agreed that checks can be issued prior to this meeting so they will not be delinquent.
REMOVING MOBILE HOME AT 517 S. “A’ AVE
The City is awaiting the liability release from Gary Gilbert.
SPECIAL LICENSE
SL#15-06; Moes; October 3, 2015; wedding reception
Moved by Buchtel second by Graham to approve this license. Aye: all. Motion carried.
BUILDING PERMITS
BP#15-16; Jessica Schauer; 110 S. “C” Ave; move on mobile home (double wide) Pictures were received so it was moved by Buchtel second by Graham to approve this permit. Aye: all. Motion carried.
BP#15-20; Marvin Rask; 520 S. “A” Ave.; fence
Motion by Graham second by Trullinger to approve this permit. Aye: all. Motion carried.
ZOMBIE WALK
Helen Richter, representing the Booster Club, asked permission to use city streets for a Zombie walk on October 30 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Sheriff’s Department has been notified to get this on their schedule. The Booster Club will have the route they will use available for the next City Council meeting. The Council agreed that this would be fine and to go ahead and proceed with their plans, and stated this sounds like a good fund raiser.
OTHER ITEMS DISCUSSED:
The Engineer is doing the shots on North “C” Ave and drawings will be arriving shortly.
Being no further business Mayor Trullinger adjourned the meeting at 5:15 p.m.
