MINUTES OF THE
NEW UNDERWOOD CITY COUNCIL
A regular meeting of the New Underwood City Council was held at 6:00 p.m. at the Community Center on November 20, 2019. Present were: Mayor Jack Trullinger, Councilmembers: Teresa Gossard, Larry Graham and Kathy Trullinger. Absent: Karin Shoemaker. Also present: Finance Director Meri Jo Anderson, Finance Officer Kristi Pritzkau and Dir. of Public Works Tim Hall. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Trullinger with the Pledge of Allegiance following.
AGENDA
Motion by Gossard second by K. Trullinger to approve the agenda. Aye: all. Motion carried.
MINUTES
It was moved by K. Trullinger second by Gossard to approve the November 6, 2019 Council meeting minutes with the following corrections: the bill list General Fund total was 49246.90; the Mastercard total was 621.77. Aye: all. Motion carried.
PUBLIC WORKS
They are still installing new water meters.
GARBAGE TRUCK
Motion by K. Trullinger second by Graham to authorize $1,000 to pay for a repair to a cylinder on the garbage truck. Aye: all. Motion carried.
SPIKING PERMIT
It was moved by Gossard seconded by K. Trullinger to approve Spiking Permit #19-07 for Sara Hansen on December 20, 2019 at the Community Center for a Christmas party. Aye: all. Motion carried.
2020 ELECTION
Motion by K. Trullinger second by Graham to combine the 2020 election with the school on April 14, 2020 and to appoint Connie Carmichael, Jim McKee, Kay McKee, and alternates Donna Rankin and Tara Richter to the 2020 election board. Aye: all. Motion carried.
DISTRICT 9 MEETING
The 2020 District 9 meeting will be held in New Underwood on April 1, 2020. It was moved by Gossard seconded by K. Trullinger to get a Special License for that event. Aye: all. Motion carried. The City staff will be in charge of the details for this meeting.
OTHER ITEMS DISCUSSED:
Mayor Trullinger stated as it would be considered an emergency, he would authorize more funds for the garbage truck repairs if needed.
SDML Membership dues will be on the next bill list.
Being no further business Mayor Trullinger adjourned the meeting at 6:07 p.m.
