Minutes November 16, 2016

MINUTES OF THE
NEW UNDERWOOD CITY COUNCIL

 

A regular meeting of the New Underwood City Council was held at 6:00 p.m. at the Community Center on November 16, 2016. Present were: Mayor Jack Trullinger, Councilmembers: Teresa Gossard, Laurie Holloway, Karin Shoemaker and Kathy Trullinger.  Also present: Meri Jo Anderson, Finance Officer, Dir. of Public Works Tim Hall, Mike Holloway, Deputy McPherson, and Dianne Trullinger.

AGENDA

Motion by Shoemaker second by Gossard to approve the agenda. Aye: all. Motion carried.

 

MINUTES

Moved by Holloway second by K. Trullinger to approve the November 2, 2016 minutes as presented.   Aye: all. Motion carried. 

 

CITY COUNCIL MEETING

The next city council meeting will be Tuesday December 6, 2016 instead of Wednesday.

 

BUILDING PERMIT

BP#16-24; Michael Long; 111 S. “C” Ave; move in mobile home

Mayor Trullinger told Mr. Long that he was going to recommend disapproval of this permit due to the condition of the mobile home. Therefore Mr. Long agreed to withdraw the permit until he can get it repaired.  Moved by Shoemaker second Holloway to approve the denial of this permit.  Aye: all.  Motion carried.

BP#16-25; Kurt Wolken; 501 E. Pine; carport

Motion by Holloway second by K. Trullinger to approve this permit pending meeting set backs. Aye: all.  Motion carried.

BP#16-26; Mary Reyes; 206 S. “C” Ave; fence

Moved by K. Trullinger second Holloway to approve this permit pending meeting set backs. Aye: all.  Motion carried.

 

The Council will look at tightening up the mobile home standards by making them more definitive.

 

 OTHER ITEMS DISCUSSED:

  1. The Black Hills Mayor Luncheon is being held in New Underwood on November 17th at 11:30 and the Council and staff are invited to attend. This will be considered a special meeting per open meeting laws, since a quorum of the Council will be present, with no city business being officially acted on.
  2. PW has been flushing hydrants and sewer jetting. The sander and snow plow are ready.

 

 

Being no further business Mayor Trullinger adjourned the meeting at 6:15 P.M.
