MINUTES OF THE

NEW UNDERWOOD CITY COUNCIL

A special meeting of the New Underwood City Council was held on April 10, 2007 at 5:30 p.m.  Present were: Mayor Benita White, Councilmembers: Jackie Dahlquist, Michael Green, Tyler Richter, and John Torrey.  Also present: The Fin. Officer Meri Jo Anderson, Dir. Public Works Greg Hall, and Cris Allen, NU Post.  The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the Planning & Zoning Hearing.

AGENDA

Motion by Dahlquist second by Green to approve the agenda.  Aye:  all.  Motion carried.

PLANNING & ZONING HEARING

The minutes from the April 9, 2007 Planning & Zoning hearing on the conditional use permit for the Verizon Tower were presented to the Council.  The Planning & Zoning staff had recommended approval based upon criteria set forth in County Ordinance.  The Planning & Zoning Commissioners voted to “deny the permit in order to allow Verizon to locate the proposed cell tower on another site in the area”.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

The New Underwood Post representative removed herself. 

Moved by Green second by Dahlquist to go into executive session at 5:40 p.m. to discuss legal matters.  Aye:  Dahlquist, Green, and Richter.  Nay:  Torrey.  Motion carried.  Motion by Dahlquist second by Torrey to adjourn the executive session and return to regular session at 6:30 p.m.

APPEAL HEARING

Motion by Richter second by Dahlquist to send a letter to the Pennington County Commissioner’s for the appeal hearing.  Aye: all.  Motion carried.

 Being no further business the Mayor adjourned the meeting at 6:35 p.m.
