MINUTES OF THE
NEW UNDERWOOD CITY COUNCIL
A special meeting of the New Underwood City Council was held on November 28, 2005 at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the design and construction of a new City Hall building & shop verses renovation of the current building. Present were Mayor Benita White, Councilmembers: Jackie Dahlquist, Larry Graham, Michael Green, and LeeAnn Schumacher. Also present: Fin. Officer Meri Jo Anderson, Dir. Of Public Works Greg Hall, Kerry Bowman, Gary Cammack, and Jay Price.
The renovation of the current building is now looking improbable, since the east side of the building is falling away from the entire structure, suggesting the foundation is starting to fail.
Discussion followed on what information needs to be put into the planning of a new building to get a more accurate cost estimate. Things to consider: the design, layout, placement of building, shell versus finished, post frame structure, concrete slab, steel versus wood, wall heights, ingress and egress locations, and available monies.
Being no further business the meeting was adjourned at 11:20 a.m.
(Seal) Meri Jo Anderson, Finance Officer
