MINUTES OF THE
NEW UNDERWOOD CITY COUNCIL
A regular meeting of the New Underwood City Council was held on January 4, 2006 at 6:00 p.m. Present were: Mayor Benita White, Councilmembers: Jackie Dahlquist, Larry Graham, Michael Green, and LeeAnn Schumacher. Also present: The Fin. Officer Meri Jo Anderson, Asst. Fin. Officer Teresa Gossard, Dir. Public Works Greg Hall, Asst. Dir. Public Works Jack Trullinger, Officer Przymus, Sgt. Hughes, and Chuck Dockter.

Moved by Green second by Dahlquist to approve the agenda. Aye: all. Motion carried.
MINUTES
Motion by Dahlquist second by Schumacher to approve the December 21, 2005 minutes. Aye: all. Motion carried.
FINANCIAL REPORT & BILLIST
The Finance Officer presented the financial reports, bill-list and vouchers. Motion by Schumacher second by Dahlquist to approve the financial reports and the following warrants as presented. Aye: all. Motion carried.

DISTRICT MEETING
The catering at the Municipal League district meeting that is being held in New Underwood in April was discussed. Motion by Dahlquist second by Green to get a contract drawn up and negotiated with the caterers. Aye: all. Motion carried.
WATER
The Director of Public Works reported he would like to start blending the wells to try to get the radium at an acceptable level. The Mayor would like a notice in the Post when the blending starts to let the citizens know.
LAW ENFORCEMENT
Officer Przymus presented his written monthly report. Officer Przymus reported about on going investigations, shifts, and a request from a private individual about painting the parking lines on
CITY HALL RENOVATION
A letter was received from County Commissioner Jim Kjerstad in reply to our letter. Mayor White spoke to him by phone and has set up a meeting on January 11th at 9:00 a.m. to discuss the City Hall renovation.
SPIKING PERMIT

Motion by Schumacher second by Green to approve this spiking permit. Aye: all. Motion carried.
NORTH WATERLINE
A lengthy discussion on pressurizing the water line to the north followed. The Council felt that negotiations on the two 1988 contracts should continue.
COMMUNITY CENTER
Ice machine box was purchased and will be installed in the Community Center. The trap from the utility sink is leaking. Prices will be obtained to replace the shades or lights in the main room of the community center.
OTHER ITEMS DISCUSSED THROUGHOUT MEETING
- Some street lights that are out will be reported the WREA.
Being no further business the Mayor adjourned the meeting at 7:25 p.m.
