A regular meeting of the New Underwood City Council was held at 6:10 p.m. in the Community Center on May 20, 2015. Present were: Mayor Jack Trullinger, Council member’s: Larry Graham, Laurie Holloway, and Kathy Trullinger. Absent: Rikka Buchtel. Also present: Finance Officer Meri Jo Anderson, PW Supervisor Tim Hall, Marvin Rask, Kim Karp, and Dianne Trullinger. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Jack Trullinger.
Motion by Graham second by K. Trullinger to approve the agenda. Aye: all. Motion carried.
Moved by Holloway second by Graham to approve the May 6, 2015 as published. Aye: all. Motion carried.
- Snow Plow back on Truck.
- Curb stop for Twizted Tavern replaced.
- PW will be taking the chlorine samples at the shop to get a better overview of levels.
- Mr. Hall and Mayor Trullinger got the door cut out at the ground storage bldg.
- New Bobcat back and new brush on.
Mayor Trullinger stated he had not received any more quotes for the electrical work, therefore it was moved by Holloway second by K. Trullinger to approve the quote received from Paul’s Electric in the amount of $1,475.34. Aye: all. Motion carried.
OATHS OF OFFICE
Mayor Trullinger administered the oath of office to Attorney Chris Beesley.
The following volunteers were recommended for appointment by Mayor Trullinger: Ruth Ekern, Bob Hall, Kimmy Winegar, Chad Tussing, Kristi Wolf.

MODERN WOODMAN GRANT
The Mayor reported that Patricia Tutsch, Modern Woodmen Representative, had contacted him that another $250.00 grant had been approved for the City of New Underwood. She will deposit it with Jolly Lane, so we now have $500.00 to go towards trees and plants at the park.
They also have funds available to help supply the food pantry. They will get us baskets for Thanksgiving.
Need ideas for a matching grant for projects at the park and swimming pool.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF NEW UNDERWOOD, SOUTH DAKOTA THAT ARTICLE V; FLOOD CONTOL; BE AMENDED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:
PROVISIONS FOR CULVERTS
The City shall determine the specific grade for all drainage. Driveway culverts shall be provided by the property owner, but may be purchased by the City to be reimbursed by the property owner. These culverts must meet City specifications and must be approved by the Director of Public Works prior to installation. The City will provide gravel to cover up to a maximum of 4 inches in depth, if requested by property owner.
