MINUTES OF THE

NEW UNDERWOOD CITY COUNCIL

A regular meeting of the New Underwood City Council was held on December 1, 2004 at 6:00 p.m. Present were: Mayor Benita White, Councilmembers: Jackie Dahlquist, Michael Green, Tyler Richter, and LeeAnn Schumacher. Also present: The Fin. Officer Meri Jo Anderson, Dir. Public Works Greg Hall, Asst. Finance Officer Teresa Gossard, Officer Wardle and Adrian, and Al Ackerman.

AGENDA

Moved by Schumacher second by Dahlquist to approve the agenda. Aye: all. Motion carried.

MINUTES

Motion by Dahlquist second by Richter to approve the Nov. 17, 2004 minutes. Aye: all. Motion carried.

FINANCIAL REPORT & BILLIST

The Finance Officer presented the financial reports, bill-list and vouchers. Motion by Schumacher second by Dahlquist to approve the financial reports and the following warrants as presented. Aye: all. Motion carried.

STAGE

The Mayor is part of a committee formed to find and purchase a stage for use by the Community Center, School, and Churches. Mayor White requested $750.00 from the 2004 Budget and $750.00 from the 2005 Budget to go toward the purchase of this approximate $7,000.00 stage. Moved by Schumacher second by Dahlquist to grant this request. Aye: all. Motion carried.

LAW ENFORCEMENT

Officer Wardle gave his written monthly report.

Officer Adrian requested a donation for the DARE project. Motion by Dahlquist second by Schumacher that since there is only $50.00 left in the budget for donations that will be the amount the City will give. Aye: all. Motion carried.

SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET ORDINANCE

Supplemental Budget Ordinance Number 04-08 received its second reading.

SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET ORDINANCE

BE IT ORDAINED by the New Underwood City Council that the following amounts be appropriated to the 2004 budget to cover costs: 200/212/456 (Community Center 2nd Penny) - $17,100.00 - Means of finance: undesignated funds from 2nd Penny of Sales Tax - $17,100.00. 601/433.3/426 (Chemicals) - $2,000.00; 601/433.1/436 (water main) - $2,000.00 - Means of finance: undesignated water revenue.

Motion by Schumacher second by Richter to accept the second reading of Ordinance Number 04-08. Roll call vote. Aye: Dahlquist, Green, Richter, and Schumacher. Nay: none. Motion carried.

OTHER ITEMS DISCUSSED THROUGHOUT MEETING

  1. Mr. Hall reported it will be Curtis’ last day tomorrow, since things are slowing down.
  2. City Hall has received several calls thanking them for putting up the Christmas decorations.
  3. Golden West would like the 20-foot easement to the west on the proposed Swanson annexation.

Being no further business the Mayor adjourned the meeting at 6:30 p.m.
