MINUTES OF THENEW UNDERWOOD CITY COUNCILA regular meeting of the New Underwood City Council was held on Feb. 2, 2005 at 6:00 p.m. Present were: Mayor Benita White, Councilmembers: Jackie Dahlquist, Michael Green, and LeeAnn Schumacher. Absent: Tyler Richter. Also present: The Fin. Officer Meri Jo Anderson, Dir. Public Works Greg Hall, Asst. Finance Officer Teresa Gossard, Officers Wardle, Officer Foster, Nell Boyd, and Al Ackerman. AGENDA Moved by Schumacher second by Dahlquist to approve the amended agenda. Aye: all. Motion carried.MINUTES Motion by Schumacher second by Dahlquist approve the Jan. 19, 2005 minutes. Aye: all. Motion carried. FINANCIAL REPORT & BILLIST The Finance Officer presented the financial reports, bill-list and vouchers. Motion by Schumacher second by Dahlquist to approve the financial reports and the following warrants as presented. Aye: all. Motion carried. TOTAL – $1166.82.TIRESThe County will let the bid for hauling the tires away from the dump on Feb. 18, 2005. When all the tires are hauled away from here the charge for tire disposal will be reinstated. Anyone with tires to dispose of should do so before then.LAW ENFORCEMENTOfficer Wardle gave his written monthly report. He discussed the burglaries (minors involved), animal control and the safety presentation they had given. Nell Boyd thanked him for taking care of a dog problem for her.SALARY ORDINANCE #05-01Ordinance Number 05-01 received its second reading. ORDINANCE NUMBER 05-01ARTICLE II SECTION VIIMAYOR AND COUNCIL SALARIESBE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of New Underwood. Pennington County, South Dakota that:1. The Mayor’s salary will be $5000.00 a year to be paid monthly, plus single member health insurance through City health insurance contract .2. Mr. Hall is installing a new door in the shop.3. Nell Boyd took some business directories to hand out.4. A letter will be sent to a dog owner who reportedly is letting their dog run at large.5. Legislative Update.6. Garbage blowing on the west end of City. The Mayor took care of the problem by having a dumpster placed in that area.7.
