MINUTES OF THE

NEW UNDERWOOD CITY COUNCIL

 

A regular meeting of the New Underwood City Council was held at 6:00 p.m. in the Community Center on September 18, 2013.  Present were: Mayor Jack Trullinger, Council member’s: Rikka Buchtel, Larry Graham, Laurie Holloway, and Kathy Trullinger. Also present: Finance Officer Meri Jo Anderson, Dir. Of Public Works John Bale, Dianne Trullinger, and Cris Anderson.  The meeting was called to order by Mayor Trullinger.

 

AGENDA

Motion by Buchtel second by Trullinger to approve the amended agenda.  Aye: all. Motion carried.

 

MINUTES 

Moved by Holloway second by Graham to approve the September 11, 2013 minutes as presented.  Aye: all.  Motion carried. 

 

PUBLIC WORKS

Mr. Bale reported the streets are all swept, they placed the retrieved chips at the south well site, chlorinator repaired, hand railing at public works shop installed.

 

AQUATIC DIRECTOR

Cris Anderson reported on pool repairs. She and the Mayor will find someone to sand blast the pool.  

 

MAYOR

Mayor reported on correspondence.  He also wanted to notify the public that if they have a concern or complaint, and would prefer not to sign a complaint, the city will investigate their complaint, and if it can be confirmed, abatements will be sent. 

 

OPEN BURN

The school requested open burn for coronation.  After discussion and input from the fire chief it was moved by Buchtel second by Holloway to grant this request stipulating that faculty advisors must be present, Fire Department notified, and no bonfires just figurine and/or letter burning.  Aye: all.  Motion carried.

 

PLANNING AND ZONING ORDINANCE

Budget Ordinance Number 13-07 received its second reading.  A copy of the entire ordinance is available on line and at city hall. Motion by Buchtel second by K.Trullinger to approve the second reading of Ordinance Number 13-07.  Roll call vote. Aye: Buchtel, Graham, Holloway, and K.Trullinger.  Nay: none.  Motion carried.

 

Other items discussed:

1. The finance officer went over the governmental fund sheets with the Council.

3. Annual Conference October 8-11 in Aberdeen.

 

Being no further business Mayor Trullinger adjourned the meeting at 6:55 p.m.
